Looking to escape the intensity of the heat in Dubai? Then how about chilling out with a sophisticated Afternoon Tea At The Burj Al Arab, indulging yourself with a decadent treat? Literally a High Tea! We were lucky enough, on our recent trip to Dubai, to be taken to the Burj Al Arab for this iconic experience. Dress to impress in your Sunday best and check in for an afternoon of delightful delicacies and fizz.

Tea At The Burj Al Arab

The Burj Al Arab is the third tallest hotel in the world, situated on its own private island, which can be reached via a curving, private bridge from the mainland. The building is shaped like a gigantic shimmering sail, but you won’t feel seasick on this ship, well not unless you eat too much! Inside you will find lashings of gold leaf, marble and water features. The Skyview Bar is perched at the top and is accessed by a glass sided lift giving amazing views as you glide up to the 27th floor, ears popping as you go. No other tea room in Dubai will offer you views as unique; the sweeping city skyline and amazing vistas out across the Arabian Gulf.

At the top you will be greeted by waiters who will take you to your plush seats in the Skyview Bar and serve you a refreshing glass of champagne while you absorb the atmosphere and peruse the menu. Tea At The Burj Al Arab is not just tea and scones, but delicate finger sandwiches, pastries and cakes as well as delicious homemade jams with an Arabian twist – I particularly liked the passion fruit jam – along with your choice of select teas, fresh coffee, soft drinks and, of course, a glass of champagne.

We were serenaded by a harpist which added to the ambiance and sophistication of the afternoon, she was very good, although we were all too polite to applaud her at the end as it didn’t somehow seem the thing to do in this 7* establishment! Book your tickets in advance, to avoid disappointment…
