Grand Taste & Travel Show
We love to travel and part of the experience of travelling is getting to know new places, meeting new people and immersing oneself in the culture of the destination. Food is a huge part of travel and we love nothing more than experiencing new dishes prepared from fresh ingredients, grown or reared in the region by local producers. In celebration of this we would love to invite you to our Grand Taste & Travel Show which we are hosting at Painshill Park in Cobham.
Painshill Gardens were inspired by the Hon. Charles Hamilton, ninth son and 14th child of the Sixth Earl of Abercorn, who himself embarked on two Grand Tours across Europe. The Grand Tour was a rite of passage and a symbol of wealth and status for young men at the time with essential stops to Paris, Venice, Florence, Greece and Turkey. Today you can see how Hamilton’s tours influenced the building and planting at Painshill with the Grotto, inspired by the natural grottoes along the coast of Naples.
At our Grand Taste & Travel Show we have a host of Tour Operators each with their own specialisation from Cruise to Adventure, All Inclusive Luxury to Family favourites. There will be representation from different regions around the world to truly inspire your travel choices!
In addition, we will be joined by local chef and MasterChef quarter finalist, Daniel Britten. Passionate about local produce Daniel won Surrey Life’s Food and Drink Award for best Local Menu in 2015, he was also runner up for Chef Of The Year that year too. Daniel’s career took off when he reached the quarter finals of BBC’s MasterChef in 2008 inspiring him to achieve his ambition to become a chef. We are delighted that Daniel will be joining us for our Grand Taste & Travel Show and hope that you will be inspired by his ‘tasters’ from around the world.
So, save the date for our Grand Taste & Travel Show on 3 February 2019 from 11am to 3pm. Entry will be FREE of charge and you will also have access to the grounds of Painshill Park.
