Turks & Caicos

Turks & Caicos

A good start with the calm and spacious environment of British Airways Club from Heathrow to Miami, a glass of Champagne and a tasty light lunch with wine, served whilst catching up on the latest feature films!

Turks & CaicosTurks & Caicos

Our first stop was Miami, I loved Miami Beach and Metropolitan Hotel by Como for its perfect position, just far enough away from ‘Miami Life’ offering a peaceful environment, whilst still in walking distance to reach it, and even closer to the beach. The fabulous cool, Art Deco interior and the excellent award winning restaurant – my yellow snapper grilled on a bed of kale and the desert selection was a most memorable meal. The greeting on arrival by the staff at reception was genuine, warm and friendly. I found all the staff at the hotel particularly attentive and caring throughout our visit.

A short 1 hour 45 min flight took us from Miami to Providenciales, the soft white sands and crystal clear waters of the Turks & Caicos Islands of the Caribbean. Our second stop in the Northwest Point Marine National Park and the stunning resort of Amanyara (which means peaceful place) Aman Resorts – this was the most tranquil resort I have ever visited, I felt the stresses and strains of daily life just float away the minute I arrived. A truly luxurious resort, a very natural feel, flavours of Asia throughout, wood, glass and water, surrounded by the most beautiful beach. I loved the reflection pools, the beautiful spacious villas – many facing the ocean, others tucked away amongst lush vegetation and some with their own reflecting ponds. The lovely staff, all of whom went about their duties in a quiet and gracious way, but always available to assist and attend. Meals were fresh, vibrant and delicious, the environment breathtakingly beautiful and tranquil.

Turks & CaicosLast stop was Parrot Cay, By Como, a private island (no paparazzi permitted here) offering one of the most beautiful beach settings in the Caribbean. The individual beach villas with private pools are the choice for the ‘ultimate get away from it all holiday’ – luxury Caribbean holiday in the sun. Again the dining options perfect, with a great menu choice – in particular the fresh fish. My favourite dining location was the Terrace Restaurant. I also have to mention Kamal, our butler, such a kind and thoughtful, gentle man he really went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The ‘out of this world’ Coco Shambala Spa Pavillion was another treat, the vast open views from the reception area were unforgettable, many hotel guests just wander up to the spa to sit and gaze out at the views while sipping the delicious ginger tea. A vast selection of treatments are available and the full body massage, one of the best I have had!
